Sour Prat temple is a row of twelve towers that span from north to south, lining the eastern side of Royal square and just opposite the Elephant Terrace. This was possibly built during the reign of Indravarman II. The towers are made from rugged laterite and sand-stone. Translated, the name means “the towers of the right-rope dancers” ,which is derived from a local belief that they were once used to support a high wire stretched between them for acrobatic acts during royal festivals.
